HertsmereBorough Council provides a support and advisory function to externalprofessional and voluntary bodies on all matters relating to the development ofmuseums and heritage services. The Council plays a key role in assisting withthe management of three voluntary museums across the Borough, and in promotingthe unique cultural heritage of the borough, which includes a legacy of popularfilm and TV production.
Workingwithin the Partnerships and Community Engagement department of the Council, thepost holder will be required to provide curatorial advice to, and support thework of all museums and heritage organisations, and develop a range of opportunitiesfor residents to access the heritage of the borough. The ability to work withexternal bodies and the voluntary sector will also be vital. This role willprovide the successful candidate with a varied, dynamic and enjoyable careeropportunity.
Akey attraction of this post is the work currently underway to provide a newhome for Elstree and Borehamwood Museum and in the short term this projectwould be a key focus for the successful applicant.
Thisis a part time post (21.6 hours per week), with flexible hours to be agreed onappointment. We offer a benefits package which currently includes a minimum of25 days annual leave, final salary pension scheme, flexible working hours, freecar parking and free use of leisure facilities.
