März 2023 an alice.waldner(at)oeaw.ac.at The Austrian Archaeological Institute, Athens Branch (OeAI) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW) is offering a position as a DOCTORAL CANDIDATE (SUR PLACE) in the FWF project "Crossing the Sea. Pottery from Asia Minor in Athens" (30h per week) From May 1st, 2023 Your tasks: •Processing of the pottery finds of selected contexts from the Athenian Agora•Identification of Asia Minor pottery imports•Find statistics and scientific documentation of the diagnostic pottery finds•Macroscopic fabric determination•Recording of finds in a project database•Compilation of catalogues and reports Your profile: •Master Degree in archaeology and/or similar disciplines with a focus on pottery research•Experience in scientific processing of pottery finds from the Hellenistic to early Byzantine periods (3rd century B.C.-7th century A.D.)•Profound knowledge of ceramic find contexts in Turkey and Greece•Basic knowledge of archaeometry is desired•Experience in working with databases•Good IT skills (MS Office, Adobe, etc.)•Excellent knowledge of modern Greek and English desirable Our offer: •Excellent opportunity to work in a vibrant research environment at the OeAI Athens within theOeAI Research Group Object Itineraries directed by Alice Waldner and Pamela Fragnoli •A gross monthly salary of € 2.400 (x14 per year) •Period of appointment: 3 years, according to Greek labour law Please send your (1) tabular CV, (2) detailed application (max. 3 pages), (3) certificates/diplomas in PDF format, indicating "Crossing the Sea - OeAI Athens" to Diese E-Mail-Adresse ist vor Spambots geschützt!
