https://puwebp.princeton.edu/AcadHire/apply/application.xhtml?listingId=32403 Application for Lecturer: Ancient Near Eastern or Egyptian Art and Archaeology The Department of Art and Archaeology at Princeton University invites applications for a Lecturer position in the art and archaeology of the ancient Near East or Egypt for the 2024-2025 academic year. The position is expected to be full-time, contingent on enrollments, with the possibility of a one-year renewal. The position is anticipated to begin September 1, 2024. The lecturer is expected to serve as the head AI / TA for the department's two flagship courses: introduction to the history of art (fall semester) and introduction to the history of architecture (spring semester). In addition, the candidate will lead precepts (small-group discussion sections) in those classes. The positions require leading discussions, attending course lectures, being available for meetings with the course instructor(s), holding regular on-campus office hours, and grading student exams and papers. Each semester, the lecturer will independently teach one course (lecture or seminar) of their own design and in their area of expertise, in consultation with the chair of the department. The lecturer will advise undergraduate students' independent work (senior thesis or junior independent work) during the academic year. Applicants should have a PhD by start date and documented teaching experience.
